General counselling
I provide evidence based interventions within counselling sessions with individuals, family and parent supports to aid in general wellbeing and treatment for poor mental health. This can include the use of a Mental Health Care plan and referral from your GP, or by self referral and private (full fee paying) sessions.
NDIS Assessments and interventions
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports many individuals who have either additional needs in their early years and need early intervention to address this, or a diagnosed condition which has life long impacts, where they will need additional supports. We are then able to support the individual and their network to build capacity around the specific difficulties that are being experienced.
Autism Assessments
Autism assessments usually involve the following:
- An initial appointment and observations
- A parent interview.
- A child structured observation session
- An adaptive behaviour assessment
From this, a report is compiled with recommendations, and you will need to see a paediatrician or Psychiatrist for review of the clinical observations and recommendations for diagnosis to occur.
Educational Assessments
Educational assessments are generally obtained if there are concerns raised in relation to specific learning difficulties, or if the child or young person is presenting as gifted.
When considering difficulties in Learning, the below link may provide you with additional information related to Specific Learning Difficulties, and discussions would be needed to establish the best form of testing to occur to where the difficulties are presenting.
