A bit ABOUT Me
Hi! I'm Anna. I am a mum of 2 delightful, neurodivergent kids. I have loved working with kids for most of my life, having had many experiences with kids, from kids club leaders and directing programs, to working in child protection services, and with early intervention with mums and bubs. I have had extensive work with trauma, and have a special interest in both Infant Mental Health, as well as Autism, especially Girls (and internalised presentation) and Autism. I have a Christian faith, and am engaged in a local church, and am able to bring this into sessions if it is desired, but never pushed. I have a passion to see people at their best, and bring strategies at whatever level the individual is ready for. I work from a wholistic perspective, looking at family systems and supports that can change experiences generally.
Working in the welfare sector for the last 15 years has opened my eyes to ways of working with individuals and groups, and also the diversity and difficulties some individuals have in accessing help.
I decided on Life Tree for many reasons. I am an avid gardener, but more than that, I love the concept of strong, healthy trees. When they have roots deep in the ground, they have strength, they hold firm through the storm. They know what they are, and they are secure in where they're planted. This is connected by strength in a trunk, it shows the effects of the years, it may be scarred, but it gives height above the troubles that may come. The branches reach for higher heights, and the leaves show the trees health. But without the connection to the source of life, none of this occurs.
For me, I want to create a safe space, where those who may have differences of beliefs, faith, and culture and neurodiversity to mainstream services feel safe and able to access help when their support systems may not be enough. My goal is to come alongside, to equip and to help reignite that which is your life source.
